How we match your Spokane lemon law case

When you submit a Spokane lemon law matter, we route it through a national network of independent partner firms and put it in front of the one that fits best — based on the kind of case it is, what it is likely to involve, where it has to be handled, and who has capacity to take it on now.

  1. Case type

A lemon law matter needs someone who handles lemon law work day to day, not a generalist. Practice area is the first filter.

  2. Size and complexity

Some firms are built for catastrophic injury and multi-party litigation; others resolve straightforward claims quickly. We weigh what your matter is likely to involve against how each firm actually works.

  3. Jurisdiction and licensing

Your matter is decided under Washington law, so it goes to an attorney licensed in Washington who regularly appears where your case would be heard.

  4. Capacity and fit

Availability, conflicts of interest and language all matter. If the best-fit firm cannot take your case, we route it to the next one that can — or tell you plainly when no one in the network is the right answer.

Every partner reviews your case for free. Injury and workers’ compensation matters are handled on contingency — no fee unless you win. Other matters are quoted upfront, before you commit to anything.

DearLegal provides marketing and matching services and is not a law firm. Submitting a case does not create an attorney-client relationship. Matches depend on case type, jurisdiction and firm availability.

More about legal help in Spokane

Spokane drivers buy new cars and trucks from local dealers and then rely on them for long winter commutes to Spokane Valley, Idaho, and across the state. When a new vehicle keeps going back to the shop for the same defect, Washington’s lemon law can require the manufacturer to replace it or refund the purchase. Claims often go through a state arbitration program before any court filing in Spokane County. DearLegal matches you with a Washington-licensed attorney who handles lemon law cases in Spokane, with a free review.

  • Lemon law claims for vehicles bought from Spokane dealers generally begin with Washington’s state arbitration program.
  • Harsh winters in Spokane expose heating, electrical, and drivetrain defects that repeat despite repairs.
  • Vehicles purchased in Idaho but registered in Washington raise which-state’s-lemon-law questions for Spokane owners.

In Washington lemon law cases the law can shift your attorney’s fees to the other side — you keep your recovery.

Washington’s Motor Vehicle Lemon Law (RCW § 19.118.090), the Washington Consumer Protection Act (RCW § 19.86.090, with treble damages up to $25,000), and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2310(d)(2)) are all fee-shifting — the manufacturer pays the prevailing consumer’s reasonable attorney fees on top of the recovery. Most Washington lemon law attorneys take cases with no fee deducted from the consumer’s refund or replacement.

Spokane lemon law questions, answered

Still unsure? Tell us what happened and a Washington attorney will review it for free.

Generally, a new vehicle with a substantial defect that the manufacturer cannot fix after a reasonable number of attempts, or that sits in the shop too long, may qualify. Keep every repair order. An attorney reviews your records and tells you whether your case meets the standard.
Usually not at first. Washington offers a state-run arbitration program that resolves many lemon law disputes without a lawsuit. If arbitration fails or the manufacturer does not comply, a case can be filed in Spokane County courts.
It depends on where the vehicle is registered and purchased, and each state’s law has its own rules. Washington’s program has specific eligibility requirements. An attorney will determine which state’s lemon law protects you and where to bring your claim.
Under RCW § 19.118.041, a vehicle is presumed a lemon if, within 2 years or 24,000 miles, the manufacturer cannot repair a nonconformity after 4 attempts (2 for serious safety defects), or the vehicle has been out of service for 30 cumulative calendar days.
WA’s Lemon Law applies only to new vehicles. Magnuson-Moss, the WA UCC implied warranty, and the Consumer Protection Act protect used buyers.
